Anuenue is a heat-tolerant cross between the old Manoa variety and Great Lakes, a large crisphead lettuce with good heat tolerance. Developed at the University of Hawaii and known for its crisp, sweet, and buttery flavor, Anuenue is highly resistant to bolting and tip burn and can germinate in warmer soil temperatures than most lettuces. Anuenue lettuce has bright green leaves and forms a tight heart, allowing for extended harvests and even cut-and-come-again harvesting.
