Known in the Caribbean as Calaloo, this species is related to Amaranthus tricolor (Chinese spinach) found in some markets in Hawai'i. Easy to grow, delicious, and very nutritious cooking green.
A great species to let set seed and naturalize in your growing area, weeding where unwanted and letting grow where desired - as is done in milpa systems.
Hot weather tolerant - a C4 plant. This particular variety came to Hawaii from Surinam via Florida. Plant thickly and harvest young.
