Grandpa Ott's Morning Glory
Ipomea purpurea
This old heirloom variety came originally from Seed Saver’s Exchange as Grandpa Ott was Diane Ott Whealy’ s grandfather. Self-seeding hardy annual vine growing to 15 feet long with beautiful deep purple flowers with a reddish star. Climbs on trellises or fences. Reseeds readily, but easy to hoe out if unwanted. I love flowering vines in the garden, especially on a trellis over the path at the entrance or in the back of a flower bed on a trellis. Bee and Butterfly friendly. Easy to grow.
