This perennial legume is a great source of protein. The seed is used to make gandule rice in Latin America and Hawaii. It is also an important species in farming systems because different varieties of bees and predatory wasps will visit the flowers. Pigeon pea is often used as a nitrogen fixing crop and used as a cover crop and a crop to cut and mulch with to add nutrients. In this package you will find the dark brown seed.
