Phaseolus vulgaris.
Open Pollinated
The gold standard for quality and productivity in pole beans. Developed by the University of Hawaii, Poamoho has stringless, long flat light green pods which are very tender. Frequent picking keeps pods from swelling. This UH variety with white seeds is resistant to root-knot nematodes and rust fungus. Prefers well drained soil.
Bean plants grow best in well drained, moderately acidic to neutral soil (pH 6.0 to 6.8 is optimum) with a good level of soil organic matter. Direct seed about 1-2” deep, 4-6 inches apart on a trellis of at least 6 feet in height. Assist young shoots onto trellis and stand back. Plants can be side-dressed with a balanced fertilizer after first flower to boost production.
20 seeds per packet
Seeds grown on Molokai.
